In continuation of our summer sailing program we are here in Anguilla collaborating with the Anguilla Sailing Club for the next 5 days. This is our first time on the island and we are already amazed with the beauty of the island and the friendliness of all the people here. We are grateful to be staying at The Four Seasons Resort & Residences, located between beautiful Barnes and Meads Bay. During the week we have the opportunity to bring our young sailors to the resort for an “Intro to Careers in Hospitality Day” which includes a chef demo on eating healthy, resort tour, and discussions with various staff members about working in the hotel industry.
The Anguilla Sailing Club is an established organization on the island which teaches sailing to the youth throughout the year. This year was a particularly challenging year for the Club as many of their boats and facilities were compromised from Hurricane Irma. Hence, we are particularly happy to have the opportunity to support the program at this time. During the week we will be working with the beginner sailors each morning and the more advanced, “developing racers” during the afternoons. As we always do with our programs, each session will have a component of mindfulness incorporated into the schedule. Whether that be tai chi, yoga, meditation, or any other wellness lesson we offer, each sailor will be introduced to mindful techniques that they can use in day to day life as well as for more focused sailing.
Thank you to all of the supporters and sponsors that have helped us get this far. We are so grateful to be here and excited for the growth that lies ahead this week for all. Stay tuned for more updates, splashes, and smiles to come.
